Prime Minister Haradinaj: Youth of Kosovo loves and wants to join Europe as its natural right

“In today’s political developments, some are right, some left, some liberal, but we are Europeans, we love Europe, we want to join Europe as Kosovo. We are with Euro-Atlantic orientation. We want to be part of NATO and in this regard , we seek for support for friends ,to redirect the message to European citizens, starting with our neighbors, especially Serbia and its citizens. It is important to recognize our truth.

Now is the time to help each other and our future, “said Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj ,during the closing ceremony of the General Assembly Conference “Prizren 2018”,organized by the European Youth Parliament, the largest European program on a voluntary basis, offering informal non-formal political education for young people.

In his speech, in front of numerous delegates, officials from all European states, ambassadors, said that today they are sitting in the Assembly of the newest state in Europe and the world ,and that this new state is the result of the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, which the dissolution as he said was very tragic.

“It hurt people in different ways. However, we are all here, in our country, to overcome it, to learn from the past, and to build a secure future. I see your organization as a link between the youth, “said Prime Minister Haradinaj.

Speaking of the difficulties faced by Kosovar youth in finding a job, Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that unfortunately life is not perfect because our youth struggles for a job and, according to him, is not easy at all.

“Education is not the way it should be. Dual education is not yet an offer for them. Finding a job for many of them is really difficult. Learning from the good practices of other countries, learning from youth practices from other countries is difficult for our youth because they can not travel freely.

We are the only country on our continent, in Europe, that we do not have visa liberalization. This is not just an obstacle, but goes to the level of discrimination. However, we are Europeans, “said Prime Minister Haradinaj at the end of his speech.

Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Kosovo, Ruairi O ‘Connell, said today is an honor to be in front of the youth, seeing them highly motivated and engaged in issues of importance. Ambassador O’Connell said that what he learned is that the voice of the youth can only make a difference by talking about what they disagree or see wrong, because this possibility according to him, does not repeat.

The main purpose of this program is to train young people with the history and work of the EU, including young people from almost all EU member states.
