“Today we commemorate two special heroes, Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu. Even though they belong to the constellation of the heroes of our nation with full justice, however, they are special because their freedom-loving activity is of an earlier period and an earlier moment of our rise for freedom, “said Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj at the ceremony of launching the postage stamp for heroes Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu.
Before the audience of many, heroes relatives, representatives of war associations, mayors, and other personalities, Prime Minister Haradinaj said that Albanians in their lands, in different periods of political action, stood up for freedom.
Recalling the time when these heroes resisted for freedom to sacrifice, Prime Minister Haradinaj said that Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu are special because they come from families who have long way of contributing to freedom, expressing the gratitude they gave their children to homeland.
“What makes Fahri different is that he was a neat thinker. His remaining works, written, speak of the high level of his opinion, an ideologue of our national freedoms, “said Prime Minister Haradinaj, adding that the Government of Kosovo is a home of the people and should feel the best family members of the fallen for freedom.
Prime Minister Haradinaj also said it is a good thing to launch a postal stamp from the Post of Kosovo, marking the eternal commemoration for our two heroes.
Sejdi Hoxha, Chief Executive Officer of Post of Kosovo, presenting a postage stamp with portraits of heroes Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu, said that he feels proud that the Post of Kosovo releases the postage stamp dedicated to the nation’s heroes.
“The names of our heroes, Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu, as they have been immortalized in many institutions, streets and squares, will today be perpetuated as postal stamps. Their brighter images will travel around the world through our postal deliveries, “said Hoxha.
Families of Heroes Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu praised this as a special day for their families, thanking the Government and the Post of Kosovo for launching the postal stamp with the portrait of Afrim and Fahri.
During the day, Prime Minister Haradinaj paid homage and placed wreaths in honor of the 29th anniversary of the fall of the Heroes of the Nation, Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu.
